Sustainable Manufacturing

Dolphin Group attaches a great importance to the topics of environmental protection, climate change mitigation and energy efficiency – from supply chain to internal production processes to final product and its maintenance and service. We design and manufacture our products considering energetic and material footprint from an environmental (LCA) Life Cycle Assessment perspective. We also utilize a continuous improvement cycle to harness waste reduction opportunities, reduce the water usage and drive continuous reduction of our CO2 footprint. We understand and demonstrate in action that we meet our customer and stakeholder expectations of competitiveness, high quality and sustainable production and supply chain practises. Intelligent digitalization, improved engineering methods and new equipment technologies are crucial elements in our journey to sustainability. A key development area for us is digital technology, of which we are making use to monitor the responsible use of natural resources, improve the efficiency of our customer service and order delivery processes.

We educate our employees and partners on our environmental policies and ensure that environmental opportunities are identified and improvements implemented to reduce Dolphin’s environmental footprint. We have set clear and measurable targets for the reduction of Greenhouse Gas emissions, material, energy and water consumption, and all our facilities are actively involved with improvement projects to minimize their environmental impact.

Dolphin also continues to invest in new product initiatives and technologies which are supporting energy conservation and/or enabling the green transition. As an example we design and manufacture customized battery cooling solutions for hybrid marine vessels as well as phase change based heat pipe technologies. We are also innovating thermal management solutions for more efficient HVAC&R systems, fuel cells and hydrogen economy, battery electric systems as well as Carbon capture and utilization or storage (CCU and CCS). We manufacture adiabatic cooling systems converting traditional evaporative systems, to adiabatic means higher energetic efficiency and substantially smaller use of fresh water. We design & manufacture Air Coolers which do not use water for cooling, using ambient air instead and thus conserving water resources. Our Air coolers also find application in Green Hydrogen manufacturing for cooling the electrolysis process. In all these use-cases, our thermal management solutions offer superior heat transfer qualities and structural durability optimizing TCO and safety
